I felt strongly called back in the summer of 2001 to come on board the Emmanuel team, after having served as a teacher in Christian schools for many years. I enjoy and consider it a privilege to facilitate the ministry of the church and help the leaders to function well, and I think one of my gifts is to help great people minister more effectively! I like to encourage people, and I endeavor to be a blessing to our people. I am fortunate to serve among such a capable and inspiring group of leaders.
I have been married to Bob, a gifted music teacher, since 1976. Our goals in life are still summed up in our wedding verse, Psalm 34:3: “O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.” We are the parents of three amazing grown and married children - Nathan (& Jennifer), Seth (& Colleen), Anna (& Royce) - and grandparents of Brady, Brock, Quinn, Essie, Camille, Elle, William, and Clara. We moved to Xenia in 1993 from northeast Ohio, and have been involved at Emmanuel ever since.
Because I distinctly remember saying “yes” to the Lord as a teenager and understanding that even a “good” life is darkness without Jesus, my testimony is reflected in 1Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
Youth Ministry Assistant
My wife Abby and I love the opportunity to minister and serve the students and families at Emmanuel Baptist Church. We feel called to point students towards Christ through intentional discipleship and relationship building. I am a graduate of Cedarville University with a bachelor degree in Biblical Studies. My role at EBC is to lead youth ministry Sunday morning programming, weekly youth group on Sunday evenings, and disciple the young men of the church. My highest calling is to see people turn from self-dependency and sin to a totally redeemed life, fully submitted to God.
My wife, Kristi, and I are so excited to be at Emmanuel ministering with and to the local Body of Christ. We are both originally from Washington state and moved her because of schooling (Kristi is currently attending Cedarville University). I hold two bachelor degrees: one in Sacred Music and the second in Bible. Kristi has nearly completed her nursing degree. As Worship Director, my role is to serve EBC in music on Sunday mornings as well as assisting the adult ministry. One thing I hope people learn from my life is that God has and will always provide! Over and over again, God has moved mountains to lift us up and keep us serving where He has called us.
My husband, Adam, and I live in Xenia and thoroughly enjoy being involved at EBC. I grew up in Xenia and have called EBC home for most of my life. My husband, on the other hand, is from Cincinnati but relocated to Xenia in 2007 when we were married. We have two children, Freddy and Layla, and are excited to raise them among such a wonderful body of believers. We love this community and desire for God to use us however He sees best!
As the Children's Director at EBC, I get to witness kids growing in their faith in Jesus. I grew up in a Christian family and have felt called to minister since in high school. I have a background in music and worship, as well as children's ministry. I moved to Xenia in 2000 to serve as children's ministry director in a local church before moving on to get my Master's in Counseling degree in 2009. I am currently a licensed clinical counselor as well as an addiction counselor. I have experience working with individuals, children, adolescents and adults addressing mental health and addiction issues. My husband, Matt, and I were married in 2002 and we have six children: Nick, Dakota (Abigail), Madison (Joshua), Isabella, Samuel and Malachi.
